We're thrilled to welcome artists Olivia Levins Holden, Lisa Arnold, and Alex Beaumont to Camp du Nord for our 4th annual winter artist residency!

This year's residency features three TLC alumni visual artists who will spend the week working on in-progress projects and end the week leading workshops for families at camp and the Ely community. All workshops are free! To register, please email info@toftelake.org with your name and number of participants.

Visual Art Workshop with Olivia Levins Holden: "Making time"

Friday, February 6th 2pm-4pm

Participants will learn the basic method for linoleum block printing, including carving and printing images on paper.  Participants will embellish the base for an annual calendar with their own block printed designs, creating a beautiful artwork they can take with them.

Visual Art Workshop with Lisa Arnold: “Nature-Themed Mosaics”

Saturday, February 7th, 10am-12pm 

Mosaic Mindfulness: Nature and Nurture, bit by bit!  In this workshop, we will make mosaics inspired by nature using a mix of materials including rocks, pebbles, glass, and other happy delights.  Please bring any natural elements of your own you wish to add to your piece.

Visual Art Workshop with Alex Beaumont: "Dry Dyeing"

Saturday, February 7th, 2-4pm 

Participants will fold, pinch, and stitch cloth pieces, then apply pigments to create colorful shapes and patterns.  Think of it as a cross between tie-dye and crayon rubbing.  This experiment is adaptable to many ages and abilities.
